Professional beauty London, Haul

Hello everyone, so on Monday i went to the professional beauty show at the London ExCel. I went with my college and it took us three and a half hours to get their and three hours to get back which felt like ages, but it was worth it as i got all this amazing stuff, i really liked the show and i got everything i wanted and more.

Options low melt paraffin wax around, £4 or £5
I have wanted some paraffin wax for ages as we use it at college, its such a lovely products and i got it for a bargain. If you don't know what paraffin wax is, it is a wax that you apply as a mask to the hands or feet, it makes your skin really soft and im very excited to use it, i brought the fragrance free one as then i would know that no one would have an allergic reaction to it.
Paraffin wax brush, £2 something
I brought a brush to apply the paraffin wax as you need a special one as it drys very fast.
Options disposable mini waxing spatulas, 70p
I wanted some of these for when i wax the brows and top lip as at the moment im just using regular sized one and braking them in half, but for 70p i couldn't say no.
Solutions grape-seed massage oil, £3 something
I needed some massage oil as i don't have any, this was really cheap but the bottle is pretty small so i hope it doesn't run out to fast.

Small bowls £1.20
Medium bowl £2.30
I needed some of these bowls for when i do my treatment so i have some were to put the water and cotton pads.

Jessica mini nail polish set £5.95
I couldn't say no to this as it was so cheap, and i have never tried Jessica before so i am excited to try them.

Jessica Jessana crystal ionized nail soak £3.50
This is a product that you use to clean and nourish the nails, you put some tea spoons into a manicure bowl and then soak the nails in it, this had a really good discount so i had to get it.

Essie to dry for, polish drying top coat £5.50
Essie mint candy apple £4.50
I don't have any Essie nail polishes so when i found out they were like half price i had to pick a few up, i have wanted to try mint candy apple for a while so when i saw that i was very happy. I also picked up the top coat because i thought it looked good, i haven't tried it yet but i hope it good.

Manicure bowl £1.95
I wanted to pick up one of these so when i saw it that cheap i had to pick it up.
Peggy sage nail polish £2
I thought this colour looked really nice and it was only £2 so i deiced to pick it up.

Proto-col instant manicure hand scrub £10
I really wanted some hand scrub so when i saw a stand selling scrubs i had to go over, i asked if i could try this one on my hands and when i used it it felt amazing, its very gritty which is great and then when i washed it off and dried my hands they were so moisturised i just had to get it, it also smells like toothpaste which is great. I now that full price this is £19 so i got a great discount on this.

Nyx taupe blusher £4.50
I have heard great things about this and i now its a great contour colour for pale people.
Nyx peaches & cream butter gloss £4.00
Youtubers talk about these all the time so i had to pick one up, i also wanted eclair but they were sold out :(
Nyx sparkle nude jumbo eye pencil £4.00
I love these jumbo eye pencils so i decided to pick up a gold coloured one as i thought it would look nice under the eye.

Now on to the things i didn't get from then show.

Superdrug purifyng and hydrating face masks two for £3.50
I wanted some face masks for my facial kit, so i thought these were on a good offer so i decided to pick one up for oily skin and one for dry skin.

Polythene paraffin protectors, Sally's £2.13, on sale
When you put the paraffin wax on the hands or feet you have to put some kind of protector on to keep heat in and so the wax doesn't go everywhere, they did have these at the show but they were £5, i did almost buy them but i didn't as i thought they were to expensive so i was very happy when i saw them on sale in Sally's

Thai manicure hand mask, Sally's £2.34, on sale
One thing i really wanted to get from the show was a hand mask but i couldn't find one, so i actually went into Sally's looking for this one and it happened to be on sale which i was very happy about. We use this one at college so i know how lovely this mask is.

Thai manicure hand and arm massage cream, Sally's £2.34, on sale
As the mask was only cheap i decided to pick up the massage cream as well, i got it as i usually use the face and body massage cream a o the hands and arms and i thought this would be nicer, this will be much better as its in a squeezey bottle as my other one is in a pot. We also use this at college so i know it smells amazing and that it has glitter in it.

Pro hair and beauty magazine, Sally's £1.95
As you may know we don't really get beauty magazines in England, so i like to pick up an issue of this whenever i am in Sally's. I also got some free individual lash's with it.

Thank you so much for reading i hope you enjoyed

What is Faradic (EMS) // Beauty Treatments

So as you know i am doing a blog series about beauty therapy, i started of by doing posts on the courses Beauty therapy level 2 and 3, and i will eventually do a post on levels 4 and 5. And now im going to start doing posts on the treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.

So today's treatment i am going to talk about is faradic also known as EMS.
The picture below shows you were you can have the treatment and what it looks likes when the electrodes are strapped onto you.
Both picture are taken from Google.

Faradic is a electrical treatment were an electrical current pass' through your skin to your muscles. It is low frequency alternating current, which is an interrupted direct electrical current. It is used to stimulate and exercise the muscles to create a tightening and toning effect. It is a type of muscle exercise that doesn't involve going to the gym.A 20 minute stomach treatment  is the equivalent of doing 300 sit ups.

You can have this treatment on your face, thighs, bust, stomach and maybe others but im not sure were.

The treatment also helps to stimulate the blood supply in wasted limbs.

The current goes through electrically conductive pads that sit on skin were the muscle is. As the current passes through the pads it triggers the muscle and shows a visible contraction. As it is an alternating current the muscle contacts for 2 seconds and rests for 2.5 seconds (may vary depending on salon/SPA).
The pads have electro lotion on which needs to be there for the current to pass through.

On the face my salon doesn't use pads we use this handheld electrode which are little black rectangle boxes with small pads on the front.

The treatment feels quite strange as your muscles move, its like when your tense your muscles but tingles a bit.

The treatment induces inch loss due to firming of the muscle. Texture of the skin on the face can also be improves as the skin is tightened

I think i have enclued everything but if you have any questions feels free to ask.

Other posts i have done on beauty therapy.

What Is Micro-dermabrasion // Beauty Treatments

So you may know i am doing a blog series about beauty therapy, i started of by doing posts on the courses Beauty therapy level 2,3,4 and 5. And now im going to start doing posts on the treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.

So today im going to start of with micro-dermabrasion.
The picture below shows you what the machine and the micro-derm head looks like.

Image taken from Google

Micro-dermabrasion is a deep exfoliating treatment which removes the top layer of dead skin cells and revels new cells making your skin look healthy with a refreshed glow. The top layer of skin gets rejuvenated, which means collagen production is stimulated leaving feeling plumed and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
The treatment also helps to reduce scars, pigmentation, rosacea and redness.

The tool that is used has either a diamond or crystal head, crystal heads are a lot more harsh and can hurt a tiny bit unlike diamond head.

You can have the treatment on your face, decolletage and back.

The head of the machine spins round, the faster it goes the less harsh it is and the slower it goes the more harsh it is, your therapist will change this depending on your skin type. Half of your face and decolletage are done at one time and then the therapist will move on to the other side. As the head spins the therapist will also move their hand around in circles whilst holding the machine and will also taught the clients skin so the skin doesn't get pulled by the crystals or diamond head.

The treatment is included into a regular facial and is done instead of using an exfoliater. The machine is used on dry skin, with no product underneath. A collagen ampule is used after to add moisture back into the skin.

I hoped this helped and if you have any questions feels free to ask.

Beauty Therapy Level 3

So you may know i am doing a blog series about beauty therapy, im going to start of by doing post on the courses Beauty therapy level 2,3,4 and 5. And then im also going to be doing posts on the treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.
Before you read this please read my post on beauty therapy level 2 Click Here.
Btw this is going to be a very writing heavy post.
So today im going to do a post on beauty therapy level 3, im going to tell you what that course entails and my experience so far.
If you didn't know i am a qualified level 2 therapist and currently doing my level 3.
I would just like to say that this is how my college does things other colleges may differ.

So you may think that doing a beauty course will be really easy , and all you do on the course is learn treatments but that is not true. The course involves a lot of theory work, assignments and some of the treatments can be tricky to do.

Treatments
Swedish body massage
Aroma-therapy body massage
Manual tanning
Spray tanning
Facial and body electricals - Micro-dermabrasion, micro-current, Galvanic, faradic, vacuum suction, direct and indirect high frequency.
As you can see this is a lot less treatments than level 2, but they are a lot harder.
I am going to do post dedicated to all of these treatments so look out for them.

Again like level 2 you have to do assignments on all of the treatments you learn, but they are a lot less in depth. Also for level 3 you only have to do three assignment were as you have to do at least 7 for level 2.

You have theory lessons were you get input and the chance to do your assignments. PSD sessions which stands for personal social development, for me in level 3 this is a lot more in depth than it was for level 2. Practical sessions which is were you are in the salon learning the treatments. Retail lessons, retail is an extra qualification that my college does, we learn all about how to sell products and just generally working in retail and sales.

Again like level 2 you learn all about the contra-indications to treatments and if you don't know what that is, a contra-indication is a kind of infection you may have on your skin, or if you take a certain medication and things like cancer, diabetes, pregnancy, epilepsy and other things like that. A contra-indication is something that might restrict or prevent a treatment.

You learn all about the bones and muscles all over the body, which you do have to learn of my heart which is very hard.
You learn about the Cardiovascular system, Lymphatic system, nervous system, urinary system, digestive system and the endocrine system. This is very hard as you learn how they work, what they do and every-think about them, im more than half way through my course and i still don't now about these 100%.

You really need a C grade in both maths and English to do this course, but if you don't most colleges offer functional skills, this is were you can get your C grade in both maths and English which i think is a really good thing to offer.

Read about beauty therapy level 2 here

Thank you so much for reading i hoped you found it help full my next post should be on beauty therapy level 4 and 5, but im not sure if im going to do it yet and i haven't started the course yet.

Beauty Therapy Level 2

So im going to start a blog series about beauty therapy, im going to start of by doing post on the courses Beauty therapy level 2,3,4 and 5. And then im also going to be doing posts on the treatments you can have in a salon or a SPA, that either people don't know about or people don't know what it actually does or the benefits of it are.
Btw this is going to be a very writing heavy post.
So today im going to do a post on beauty therapy level 2, im going to tell you what that course entails and my experience.
If you didn't know i am a qualified level 2 therapist and currently doing my level 3.
I would just like to say that this is how my college did things other colleges may do things differently.

So you may think that doing a beauty course will be really easy but its not, and you may also think that all you do on the course is learn treatments but that is not true. The course involves a lot of theory work and assignments, but i will get more into that later on.

Treatments
So these are the treatments that you learn on beauty therapy level 2.
Manicure
Pedicure
Eyebrow shape (with tweezers)
Eyebrow tint
Eyelash tint
Individual lash application
Strip lash application
Waxing - Full leg, bikini, under arm, upper lip and brows.
Facial
Makeup
Create an image based on a theme.
Bare in mind these treatments may vary in different colleges.

Assignments are a big thing in beauty therapy level 2, you do a lot of them, you do assignments on all of the treatments you learn, so you have to write about the health and safety, positioning of the client and therapists, contra-indications to each treatment and the importance of using the correct products tools and equipment.
You also have to do assignments on health and safely by itself, working in beauty related industries, promote products and services to clients in a salon and salon reception duties.
You have theory lessons were you get input and the chance to do your assignments (my assignments had to be done on word, not hand written). PSD sessions which stands for personal social development, this seems a bit pointless but we had to do it anyway. Practical sessions which is were you are in the salon learning the treatments.
You learn all about the contra-indications to treatments and if you don't know what that is, a contra-indication is a kind of infection you may have on your skin, or if you take a certain medication and things like cancer, diabetes and other things like that. A contra-indication is something that might restrict or prevent a treatment.
You also learn all about the bones and muscles in the arm and leg.
You learn about the layers of the skin, the hair regrowth cycle.
You learn all about the nails, so about what everything is called and how it works.

You really need a C grade in both maths and English to do this course, but if you don't, don't panic as i would of thought that every college offers functional skills, this is were you can get your C grade in both maths and English which i think is a really good thing to offer.

For this course you have to buy a uniform to wear in the salon, its a tunic and a pair of smart black "work" trousers (depending on the colour of your uniform) My college is strict with uniform, you are not allowed to wear tight fitting trousers, you can only wear black dolly shoes, but i can get away with black vans and if you wear dolly shoes you have to wear socks

When you join the course you will asked to purchase a manicure/pedicure kit and a makeup kit to use in the lessons. The makeup kit i got was c**p so i wouldn't get to excited if you are mad on makeup like me. but the manicure kit is really good. I have actually done a post on my kits and uniform Click here to see.

As you are working in a salon there are some rules which most girls aren't normally happy about, you have to wear your hair up in the salon, you are not allowed to wear nail polish and you are not allowed your phones in the salon.

Along with the course you also get the  chance to do work experience which is great.

This is a full time course but i was only in for two days a week Tuesday 10.00-8.30 and Thursday 10.00-4.30. You will always have to do one late night, they do this so you get used to being on your feet all day like you would be in a real salon.

And the last thing, you get a certificate at the end which is lovely, to show all your hard work.

Your grades are marked pass, merit and distinction.

Thank you so much for reading and i hoped you found it helpful, read my post on beauty therapy level 3 Click Here

Weekly update #1

Hello im back, im going to start doing some more posts on my blog and they are going to be a little different to my post i did before, im going to do these weekly update posts where i will show u my recent instagram pictures and tell what i did last week, these posts will probably be on different days but i will try to assign a day that they will be posted, lets just hope i keep it up.

Instagram
So the pictures up there are the pictures i have recently uploaded to instagram, some of them are recent purchases and the others are just pictures i thought looked nice. Please follow my instagram as i upload at least one picture a day over there. My name is Beautycallls.

Update
So last week i didn't really do much a part from college but i will tell you what i did anyway.
Monday - College, im normally in college on a Monday from 11.00 - 7.30 but one of my tutors couldn't come in so i only had to go in 3.30- 6.30 which was cool. I only had one lesson and that was aroma-therapy massage, we have learnt all the moves on all the ares so we just practised the full body massage.
Tuesday - On Tuesday im not at college and i just spend the day a home doing nothing really, but at around 3.00 my auntie texted me asking if she could have a back massage and her eyebrows done so off course i said yes. She has bad back problems so she asked for a course of back massages ounce a week so that was cool as i earn money doing it.
Wednesday - College, today i had a functional skills English exam in the morning which went okay. And then i had my retail lesson,in that lesson its was just a catch up lesson, so we were just organising our folders and doing any work we hadn't done. And that was all i did on Wednesday.
Thursday - Thursdays im not at college and all i normally do is go food shopping with my dad in the morning and that's all i did.
Friday - Back at college, so today at college we are in the salon all day, but today i actually had my work experience in the morning, which was actually quite good. We learnt how to answer the phone and book clients into the computer, i also did a treatment on a paying client which is always scary but it went really well, i did a full body Swedish massage and the lady really enjoyed it which was good. Later on it was our body electricals lesson were we did body micro-current which is actually quite boring as its very easy and we don't really do much.
Saturday - I went into town with mom and did a bit of shopping, if you look at the pictures above there is a picture of two garnier products which i brought from boots, i got them for a bargain there was an offer on 2 for £4 which i couldn't say no to as the miceller water is £4.99 by itself. I also brought a pick and mix lol.
Sunday - Sundays are lazy days for me, and my brothers and dad went to golf and then my mom went out with her sister, so i had some of the day to myself which was nice, i didn't really do much though, all i was some work for college and watch the TV and some YouTube.

So that was my week, and i actually really enjoyed writing this so i will defo try and keep it up.
